At the end of the harvest, it is customary to bring together all the participants for a convivial meal offered by the master of the house. It is known as “paulée” in Burgundy, “cochelet” in Marne, and “chien” ou “R’youle’ in Beaujolais. The term “paulée” comes from the last shovelful or scoop of grapes in the press. Major events are thus organized in Burgundy like the Paulée of Meursault, where one can taste all kinds of wines, or that of the Chablis winegrowers, the Monday following the Fête du Vin.
