Aposematic caterpillar
Certain Central American caterpillars are equipped with a whole system of branched spines which allow them to inoculate a very toxic venom to their predators. Their heads in particular are well protected by this defense devices. They are said to be aposematic and display showy colors to remind their predators of their bad experiences.
