Famous for its fort transformed into a presidential resort in 1968, the islet of Brégançon is a 6,561-square foot (2,000 m²) large rock rising 114.8 ft (35 m) above sea level. Round in shape and steeply cut on all sides, the islet remained completely separated from the coast for centuries. Today, it is linked to the Var coastline by a jetty about 492 ft (150 m) long installed by Robert Bellanger, who rented the Fort de Brégançon between the two world wars.
