An unusual moving bell tower

Until the 17th century, the bell tower of Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption Church in Moustiers-Sainte-Marie was one of the few moving steeples of Europe. It shared this particularity with those of Viviers and Bar in France and Bristol in England. The prior of Moustiers, Jean de Bertet (1614-1670), had it consolidated in the 17th century with beams on the inside and iron keys outside.
