In addition to its two covered halls, the Cité du Train-Patrimoine SNCF has created a 16,000 m2 outdoor area dedicated to permanent and temporary exhibitions, as well as to a number of fun railway activities. A track plan, on the edge of the Railway Panorama, is used to organise exhibitions of equipment, from April to October, with the presentation of some of the elements parked in the museum’s reserve building. Urban transport cars (suburban trains, trams) and electric locomotives are also present.
