An oligotrophic environment
0
0
The oligotrophic nature of its waters allows Lake Servières, in the Puy-de-Dôme department, to harbor remarkable aquatic flora. The 85 ft (26 m) depth and the volcanic origin of the crater lake have made it an environment poor in nutrients and organic elements but rich in oxygen. Significant biodiversity has developed in Lake Servière by deploying original and specialized strategies.
