An island swept by trade winds

The Martinique kitesurf spots, like here Pointe Faula on the southern Atlantic facade of the island, are mainly made up of large shallow lagoons traveled by winds on and side-on. The island is swept away by the trade winds, hot and mild winds from the northeast, from December to June. These winds are relatively light and do not blow continuously. Their strength determines the size of the lines to adopt for kitesurfing. In Martinique, kitesurfers mainly use lines of 32 to 46 ft (10 to 14 m).
