An internationally renowned marina

Located in the heart of the town, the port of Saint-Tropez occupies an area of 22 acres (9 ha) divided into two basins. Its capacity of 734 mooring spots and the international attractiveness of the site make it one of the major stopovers in the Mediterranean and one of the most famous ports in the world. Formerly a fishing then commercial port, it today constitutes a vast marina. Its main basin, baptized the Old Port in 1965, is a listed site rebuilt identically after the damage suffered during the Second World War. Its second basin, officially named Bassin Jean Escudier in 2009, covers 12.35 acres (5 ha) and can accommodate boats up to 68.8 ft (21 m) long. As for its Harbor Master's Office, it is located in Tour Saint-Elme, built in 1637 identically to the oldest Tour du Portalet to protect the entrance to the port.
