An innovative and fast construction

Besides holding several height and length records, the Millau Viaduct constituted a technological challenge achieved in three years. Initiated in 2001, it was completed in December 2004, a few weeks ahead of the specifications chart. The work for the site was entrusted to the Eiffage Group, a specialist in civil engineering and metal construction. By means of lasers, GPS, transposers, high-performance concrete, and self-climbing formwork, the Millau Viaduct saw the light of day quickly.
