An increasing natural predation
0
0
Over the past fifty years, the natural phenomenon of predation on the egg-laying of Hermann's tortoises (Testudo hermanni) has grown. Such an assessment results from the expansion of forest areas and the concentration of egg-laying on smaller and more easily identifiable zones. The predation exerted by rats, martens, foxes, badgers, or wild boars on the eggs and young tortoises has, therefore, locally increased.
