For the past 15 years, skylines with towers - the symbolic structures of contemporary urban planning - have acted as showcases and positioning tools in the European interurban competition. The Marseille skyline, centered around the Euroméditerranée project relating to the development of Quais d'Arenc, is no exception to this trend. In addition to the CMA CGM tower designed by Zaha Hadid and delivered in 2010 (left) and the recent La Marseillaise tower by Jean Nouvel inaugurated in 2018 (right), a third project - the Mirabeau tower - led by the Lebanese architect Hala Wardé should complete in 2022 the skyline in the making of the Phocaean city.
