An estuary used by William the Conqueror

0
In 1066, the Dives estuary was much wider and housed a beaching port. Boats could go up the river's course for 12 miles (20 km). It is from there that William the Conqueror assembled a fleet of 15,000 men to invade England. Today, the Dives welcomes a more peaceful invasion in Port Guillaume. Boaters and multihulls can set up along a large dune strip and are moored by front or rear embossing on fixed buoys.
