An essential link of the food network
1
0
Corals represent an essential link in the food network as a direct or indirect food source for many underwater species. Thanks to the photosynthetic activity of the zooxanthellae which are symbiotically associated with them, they assimilate and transmit energy through the predation processes that are exerted on them. In addition, their concentration in species allows a strong promiscuity between the preys and the predators.
