The role of the carpenters on the medieval site of Guédelon is not limited to the construction of the frameworks of the castle, which they trace, cut, and assemble. They also craft the wooden hangers that support the masonry of the vaults as well as the various lifting devices and develop reusable scaffoldings. Finally, the carpenters carry out the small equipment essential to the construction site, from wheelbarrows to mortar gamates, including rulers and compasses.
