An artistic and natural richness

In the heart of Côte Vermeille (Vermillion Coast), the seaside resort of Banyuls-sur-Mer extends at the foot of a renowned terraced vineyard. The last stop on the coast before Spain, the Mediterranean city is also the homeland of Aristide Maillol, a famous French sculptor. The artist's heritage, combined with the natural richness of the village and its surroundings, allows Banyuls-sur-Mer to attract numerous visitors each year. Just a few miles from the city center, the Maillol museum is located in the sculptor's former farmhouse and pays homage to the work of this famous Catalan through a significant collection of sculptures.
