An artificialized dune cord

The Côte Fleurie (Flowery Coast), which extends over about 25 miles (40 km) from Cabourg to Honfleur, is the most artificialized sector of the dunes of Calvados, as evidenced by the high density of protective works. The narrow or even artificial dune belt has often been leveled and replaced by buildings. This sand rampart of anthropogenic origin is formed by the installation of obstacles such as fences, barriers, or beds of marram grass. It is not adapted to resist the dynamics of the sea and wind, even if they end up adjusting to its presence.
