The islands of Port-Cros and Le Levant (background) constitute two of the main members of Hyères Archipelago. It consists of four principal islands, the three Golden Islands (Port-Cros, Bagaud, Le Levant) and Porquerolles. The archipelago also comprises a dozen islets, including the rock of Gabinière south of Port-Cros, and covers a total area of 18 sqm (29 km²) over 13.6 miles (22 km) from west to east.
