An archipelago attached to Marseille
0
0
The Explorers' cameramen team took place aboard a maritime patrol zodiac for an outing in the Frioul archipelago. This group of islands constitutes one of the 111 districts of Marseille and is attached to the 1st and 7th arrondissements. The largest of the four islands of the archipelago - the 1.6 mi (2.7 km) long Pomègues Island culminating at 292 ft (89 m) at the level of the eponymous fort and the white and red relay station - appears behind them. Uninhabited, it has been linked since 1822 by the Digue Berry to the neighboring Ratonneau Island, the port and some houses of which appear on the right.
