Linen is the oldest fabric known to men. The Egyptians called it woven moonlight while Gallic druids clothed themselves in its purity. Known as green gold in Normandy, flax is environmentally friendly and biodegradable, and linen clothes are hypoallergenic and antibacterial. Flax seeds were already eaten in the Neolithic period, during which men used them to make oil, flour, or cakes. Unlike cotton, which loses hold and quality, linen is a particularly resistant and durable fiber that gains suppleness over time. Today, 600 producers are gathered in the Terre de Lin cooperative renowned worldwide for its premium quality fiber.
