An ancestral winegrowing culture

0
The vine is an ancestral plant that has grown wild in Mediterranean areas for over a million years. Introduced in the Provence region by the Greeks, its culture was developed by the Gallo-Romans, who established the large estates (villae) found in Pierrefeu-du-Var. The locality indeed comprises about fifteen wine estates, some of which are flanked by richly adorned and wealthy master properties. Pierrefeu-du-Var is also home to a cooperative cellar bringing together 160 local winegrowers.
