An afloat basin sheltered by a dune cordon

Port Guillaume, the marina of Dives-sur-Mer, Houlgate, and Cabourg in the Calvados department, is nestled in the Dives estuary between the dune of Pointe de Cabourg to starboard and the wooded hills of Houlgate to port. Sheltered by a dune cordon, this afloat basin offers a safe shelter for the boats of local or passing boaters. It is located near Dives-sur-Mer, the medieval city where the Duke of Normandy William the Conqueror gathered his fleet of several hundred ships on August 1, 1066, to conquer England. The port also extends near the seaside resorts of Cabourg and Houlgate, very popular for their long sandy beaches and their Belle Epoque architecture.
