The marina of Courseulles-sur-Mer in the Calvados department is an active port comprising more than 750 boats. They are spread over the two basins of Joinville and Plaisance. The fishermen sell the product of their day's catch on the small harbor basin just a short walk away from the restaurants and shops. Courseulles-sur-Mer constitutes a frequent stopover for visitors on their way to the D-Day landing beaches, a few miles from the city.
