Sulawesi equatorial rainforest offers the crested black macaque a diversified diet. Omnivorous, it feeds mainly on fruits which, with more than 145 different species, represent 66% of its diet. It also consumes seeds, leaves, flowers, the marrow of certain plants and mushrooms which cover 2.5% of its food needs. The rest consists of invertebrates (31.5%), bird eggs and small reptiles.
