Rusa deers (Rusa timorensis) rarely feed by day to avoid daytime predators. They mainly eat herbs, leaves, buds, barks and fruits fallen from trees. This is enough to provide rusa deers with the water they need, which allows them to colonize habitats that other ungulates avoid.
