Alimentation of the green sea turtle
1
0
If the green sea turtle owes its name to the color of its fat made green by the algae it consumes, its diet varies over the course of its life. Carnivorous in its youth, it feeds on small invertebrates, fish fry and eggs, jellyfish and zooplankton before becoming a herbivore and grazing underwater meadows. But by ingesting marine phanerogams, it absorbs a whole fauna of crustaceans, molluscs, jellyfish and sponges.
