Il y a 4.500 ans, au Néolithique, des hommes ont dressé et aligné d’immenses pierres à Camaret-sur-Mer pendant que d’autres entreprenaient le même travail titanesque à Carnac dans le Morbihan ou encore à Stonehenge dans le SUD-OUEST de l’Angleterre. D’après un inventaire établi en 1793, 600 menhirs composaient alors les alignements de Lagatjar (nom du lieu-dit), un nombre imposant mais bien loin des 3.000 pierres levées du site de Carnac.
