The approximately 41 kilometers long Albula River, which runs through the Albula Valley in the Swiss canton of Graubünden, is the largest tributary of the Hinterrhein. The river rises near Igls Plans below the Albula Pass at an altitude of 2037 m northwest of the Dschimel (2037 m). The name is derived from the Latin word ”albulus“ (whitish).
