The size of the range of zebras is determined by the nature of the environment they inhabit. Their territory can thus cover areas of 18.6 square miles (30 km2) to 372.8 square miles (600 km2) for migrating herds with an average of 102.5 square miles (165 km2) in Kruger Park. The territories of neighboring herds overlap and zebras share the most used paths.
