Tawny Eagles, formidable and opportunistic predators
Tawny eagles have several hunting techniques in open areas. They can swoop on their prey from their perch but also grab their prey by hovering just above it or by walking on the ground. Very opportunistic predators, tawny eagles consume what they find: small rodents, game birds, reptiles, insects, carrions... They take advantage of animals killed by accidents, on animal panic around fires, and sometimes rob other birds preys. Powerful predators, they can kill small antelopes weighing twice their weight.
