Marcel Doret, military pilot in 1918, was hired as a test pilot by Dewoitine in 1923. He will always remain faithful to the brand and will contribute to the fame of the D.27, which became D.530, with its aerobatics. His duel against German aviator Fieseler in Berlin in 1927 saw him crowned King of the Air. He is the holder of 18 world records and is adored in the USA. During a French meeting in 1937, he joined the famous Carré d'As (square of aces) of the best voltigeurs. He will be baptized the Ace of Spades, alongside Louis Massotte for the ace of hearts, René Paulhan, the ace of clubs and Jérôme Cavalli for the ace of diamonds .
