In Corsica, above the village of Lumio, Occi is a fascinating abandoned hamlet. Built in the Middle Ages, the hamlet served as a refuge against Saracen attacks but it was deserted a few centuries later. Amazing vantage point overlooking the plain of Fiume Seccu and the Gulf of Calvi, it is only accessible by hiking trails and offers an impressive panorama of the sea.
