Among its numerous missions, Port-Cros National Park is responsible for administrating the National Mediterranean Botanical Conservatory of Porquerolles, created on February 15, 1979. Approved a national botanical conservatory in 1990, its field of competence extends to all the continental French Mediterranean regions like Provence or the French Riviera as well as Languedoc and Roussillon. The role of Porquerolles' conservatory is to carry out an inventory of both the flora and the natural and semi-natural habitats in collaboration with a network of scientists and botanists.
