Water activities through the meanders

The meanders of the Orne cut through the rocks of the Massif Armoricain at the height of Clécy in the Calvados department. They attract numerous canoe, kayak, rowing boats, and pedal boat enthusiasts. This tranquil river takes its name from the Latin Ulmus (elm) or Ornus (ash), two trees historically very present in the area. Born in Aunou-sur-Orne near Sées, it meanders through Norman Switzerland and then waters Caen before emerging, channeled, in the English Channel, at Ouistreham.
