In the Austral Islands, this crafting activity is taught from a generation to another among women: mamas teach their precious know-how to their daughters and granddaughters. An archaic but efficient way of transmission. Weaving has survived to the arrival of the Europeans in Polynesia and is bound to survive for at least few generations.
