Green sea turtles mating
0
0
The mating of green sea turtles takes place 1 or 2 months before the beginning of laying, near the nesting sites or during the migration between the feeding and laying sites. The act takes place on the surface or in deep water and can last several hours, the green turtle being able to stay in apnea for 3 hours. During the mating, the successive suitors cling to the carapace of the female with their 2 anterior claws.
