Access to the top of the Sancy massif

0
There are many routes to reach the top of the Sancy massif. The less athletic can take the ski lifts for most of the ascent from the ski resorts of Super-Besse, to the South-East, or Mont-Dore, to the North. Departing from Mont-Dore, it takes 4 to 5 minutes to climb with the Sancy cable car which drops you off at an altitude of 5,823 feet (1,775 metres), followed by a 20-minute ascent of the 864 steps leading to the top. From Super-Besse, you can reach Puy de la Perdrix by the eponymous cable car then continue to Puy de Sancy, a 45-minute walk, passing through Puy Ferrand.
