The 20th and 21st century collections of the Unterlinden Museum are presented in the last room of the underground gallery and in the new wing, the Ackerhof, which adjoins the former Municipal Baths. The visitor travels from the impressionist landscapes and portraits of Monet, Bonnard and Renoir to the abstraction of Poliakoff, Soulages and Viera da Silva. The inter-war period is also present with works by Léger and Baumeister. The museum has also benefited from several very important donations and bequests: 146 French works from 1940 to 1960, 124 paintings by Joe Downing and 35 works by Jean Dubuffet.
