The giraffe is the tallest land animal on Earth. Feeding on leaves, its size ensures an access to abundant resources and avoid any food competition with other herbivores. The moisture of the leaves it eats provides it most of the water it needs. In this way, the giraffe is able to be several days without drinking and avoids a position that makes it vulnerable.
