In 1991, UNESCO classified Reims Cathedral, the Palace of the Archbishops, and Saint Remi Basilica as World Heritage Sites. The three monuments are inherent to the history of the French monarchy. Saint Remi Basilica holds the relics of Saint Remi, who baptized Clovis, the first king of the Franks. The Palace of Tau used to welcome the banquets that followed coronation ceremonies, and Notre-Dame-de-Reims cathedral served as a crowning site for 31 kings.
