A wine culture developped by Romans
0
0
Riquewihr is located in the heart of the Alsatian vineyard. Many winegrowers have settled in the city and its surroundings. They take advantage of the ideal sunshine that embraces its valleys. Much before them, wild vine seems to have been present since the Neolithic in Alsace. But it is the Romans who are responsible for the extensive development of its culture. Riquiewihr's wine has been renowned since the Middle Ages.
