A wide series of tools

The most commonly used inter-center turning tool is the 0,34 inch (9 mm) profiling gouge. It is with it that the turner gives the first shape to the piece of wood introduced into the lathe. The craftsman always works along the grain of the wood and the axis of the lathe. He leans his hand on a bar that ensures a precise gesture. Then come the bowl gouges or digging gouges, more intended for the interior. Each craftsman has his favorite tools. The wood often comes from fruit trees, mountain ash, or small shrubs such as boxwood.
