A white grape imported from Tuscany

Ugni Blanc is the emblematic grape variety of the Cognac designation, of which it represents 95% of the composition. This late-ripening grape produces a wine with a high acidity rate and a low alcohol content, two essential characteristics for the distillation of brandy. Originally from Tuscany, Ugni Blanc mainly grows on the soils of southern France, such as Provence, but also Languedoc or Corsica.
