With an average altitude of 170 metres, the village of Verzenay is located in the north-east of France, in the Champagne-Ardenne region (Grand-Est). The village is classified as a Grand Cru of Champagne and is famous for its Pinot Noir wines. Depending on their terroir, the vineyards produce Champagne or Coteaux-Champenois. Among the AOC Champagnes, there is a white, a rosé, a white Grand Cru and a white Premier Cru. The three Coteaux-Champenois AOC – one white, one rosé, one red – are still wines. All the great Champagne houses (Pommery, Charles Heidsieck, Moët & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot, Bollinger, Lanson…) are present in Verzenay.
