A unique social structure

Unlike males that often live in coalition, the female cheetah is solitary or accompanied by its latest litter. This kind of social structure, depending on the sex, is unique among cats.
The female will look for a male only for mating. She lives on a territory with no really defined borders, and often moves beyond. Her territory sometimes overlaps the habitat of other females that she knows, like a sister or her mother.
