A unique oak handtrail

Louis Majorelle crafted staircases for numerous houses devoted to Art Nouveau in France and abroad. His creations were better known for their ironwork than for their woodworking. He designed, among others, the staircase of the Villa Bergeret as well as those of the French Embassy in Vienna and the Galeries Lafayette in Paris. For the Villa Majorelle, he decided to create an oak handrail that would rise its wavy lines on two floors. The only floral element adorning it would be the ivy decoration running on it.
