A unique cider

The La Galotière estate in Crouttes, in the Calvados department, specializes in the production of organic PDO raw cider. It is made from bitter, bittersweet, and tangy cider apples harvested by hand on the property. With few sugar residues, its bitterness and acidity make it a unique cider. All the know-how of a good producer lies in the mix and the choice of local apples. They are harvested with an umbrella and maturate for two months under cover before pressing. The orchard, facing south, grows on limestone soils that regulate the water supplied to the apple trees and give the fruit a signature taste.
