The city of Cahors is a commune in the South West of France. It belongs to the Occitanie region and is part of the Lot Prefecture. This city, which has just over 20,000 inhabitants, is the historic capital of Quercy. Cahors is nestled in a meander of the Lot, surrounded by steep hills and the heights of the Causses. The city has 25 Secret Gardens which have cause it to earn the ‘Jardins Remarquables’ (remarkable gardens) label. Located one hour from Toulouse, Cahors is a typically southern city and has been awarded the 'Villes d'Art et d'Histoire' (city of Art and History) label since 2005.
