Èze-village is typical of the hilltop villages of the Alpes-Maritimes department, with a very tight habitat grouped around a main street that crosses the locality. The stone dwellings support one to several floors and are pierced with wide openings facing the sea. The heritage of Èze is both military with the castle, various forts, and blockhouses, religious with Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption Church and five chapels, and rural with old mills and olive-growing facilities.
