The Cézy suspension bridge spans the Yonne river by connecting the commune of Cézy - located on the left bank of the Yonne 3 miles (5 km) downstream from the center of Joigny - to the 'Île de l'Entonnoir' (Funnel Island) in the direction of Saint-Aubin-sur-Yonne on the right bank. Inaugurated on February 4, 1846, this 295 feet (90 m) long bridge replaced the ferry which previously allowed the 1,400 inhabitants of the village of Cézy to cross the Yonne.
