The monastic complex of Boscodon Abbey in the Hautes-Alpes department consists of buildings and land that, before the Revolution, formed a large heritage (alpine pastures, priories) and source of income extending well beyond the region of Embrun up to Queyras, Guillestrois, and the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. It has been reworked several times since the 12th century and strongly impacted during the religious wars of the end of the 16th century then, a century later by Count Amadeus of Savoy at war against France. Thus, the monastery burnt down in 1585 by the troops of Lesdiguières, which spared only the church, was rebuilt in 1628 by Guillaume d'Hugues, the Archbishop of Embrun.
